23266449 Flexible Coupling | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta flexible coupling from the Marine Propulsion group, weighing 6.305 kg. It supersedes part number 21532585 and covers its 20 D series engine applications. The coupling absorbs torsional shock between engine and gearbox.

⚙️ Key Features

• Flexible drive coupling
• 6.305 kg
• Supersedes 21532585 and covers its 20 D series engine applications

🔌 Function

Sits between the engine flywheel and the gearbox input, soaking up torsional shock and taking up small misalignments so the driveline is not hammered.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Knocking or clunking on gear engagement and throttle changes
• Vibration through the hull that builds with load
• Rubber elements cracked, crumbled or swollen with oil
• Black rubber dust collecting around the bellhousing
• Bolt holes elongated and drive lugs worn on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check engine and gearbox alignment before and after fitting - misalignment is what kills couplings
• Renew the coupling bolts and check the flywheel face for fretting while it is apart
• Keep oil and diesel off the element, as contamination destroys the rubber
