πŸ”§ Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta wiring harness, part number 23326867, from the Cables and Fuses group. It is one of four harness numbers listed together - 23326867, 23326872, 23326874 and 23326876 - under the same name and with nothing published to tell them apart, so order by number. The listing carries no published specification for it: no weight, no dimensions, no length and no engine application, and no separate specification sheet, installation instruction or accessory brochure covering this number could be found. Confirm the application against your own engine before ordering.

βš™οΈ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part 23326867
  • Listed in the Cables and Fuses group
  • One of four - 23326867, 23326872, 23326874, 23326876
  • No published weight, dimensions or engine application
  • Order against the number marked on the part being replaced

πŸ”Œ Function

Carries power and signals through the installation as one pre-terminated loom, with every branch already cut to length and every connector already fitted, so each sensor, control unit, instrument and switch lands on the circuit it belongs to. In a marine installation the loom and its connectors take the brunt of vibration, salt air and heat, which is why a tired harness so often shows up as a fault somewhere else in the system.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Circuits that come and go, or change, when the loom is moved or the boat works in a seaway
  • Green or white deposits on the connector pins, or a connector that no longer clicks home and stays home
  • Insulation chafed through, cracked or melted where the loom passes a bracket, a clip or a hot surface
  • A fuse that keeps going, or a circuit that only works with the loom held in one particular position
  • Fault codes reporting open or short circuits on several unrelated components at once

πŸ› οΈ Service Notes

  • Volvo Penta's EVC installation manual is explicit that the EVC cable harnesses must never be cut or modified, and that a Volvo Penta relay should be used where an accessory needs a power supply of its own.
  • The same manual warns against putting grease of any kind into EVC connectors, and against bus branches longer than 0.5 m (1.6 ft), which it says can generate communication disturbances. It also requires a Y-connector to go straight onto a node rather than through an extension cable.
  • Before replacing a loom, work the connectors at both ends and check the runs where it crosses a bracket or a clip. Corrosion at a pin and a chafe point behind a clip give the same intermittent faults as a failed harness.
