• Clonk or judder as the gear is engaged ahead or astern
• Vibration through the hull that comes and goes with engine speed
• Black rubber dust collecting inside the bellhousing
• Rubber elements found cracked, perished or swollen with oil
• Drive plate fasteners found loose or their holes elongated

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check engine mounts and shaft alignment when fitting - a coupling that failed early is usually telling you about alignment
• Keep oil off the rubber elements; a weeping rear main seal will ruin a new coupling
• The ZF220 4-cylinder version is coupling 23327561 and is not interchangeable with this one
