⚙️ Key Features
- Shortblock
- 355 kg
- Supersedes 23053274 and covers its five TAD series engine applications
🔌 Function
Supplies the assembled lower engine - block, crankshaft, pistons and bearings - as one unit, so a worn or damaged bottom end can be replaced without rebuilding it in place.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Deep knock from the bottom end that rises with load
- Oil pressure falling away when hot
- Metal glitter or bearing material in the oil and filter
- Heavy blow-by out of the breather and rising oil consumption
- Scored bores, ovality or a wiped bearing found on strip-down
🛠️ Service Notes
- It is the heavier of the two shortblocks in this group by over 70 kg, so confirm the engine before ordering - the other is 23343695
- Establish the cause of the original failure before the new block is run
- At 355 kg this is a crane lift and a freight consignment, not a parcel
