🔌 Function

Carries fuel between two points in the fuel system, holding pressure and keeping the circuit sealed against air being drawn in.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Smell of diesel in the engine space
• Wet or dust-caked film along the pipe or at a union
• Hard starting or rough running from air drawn in through a suction-side joint
• Pipe found chafed, kinked or corroded
• Union faces scored, or the sealing washers flattened hard

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew the sealing washers at every union disturbed and bleed the system afterwards
• A fuel leak in the engine space is a fire risk - do not defer it
• Check what the pipe was rubbing on before fitting the new one, or it will chafe through in the same place
