🔌 Function

The hydraulic clutch packs select ahead or astern rotation and transmit engine torque through the ratio-specific gear train at 2.04:1 to the propeller shaft.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Work clean and dry — the reversing gear circulates its oil through everything in this kit, so grit introduced during assembly ends up in the gears and bearings
• Fit the new seals, gaskets and locking parts supplied with the kit and discard the corresponding old ones, including any that still look serviceable
• Inspect the flexible coupling, shift linkage, control cable and mountings while the gear is accessible; worn ones will undo the benefit of the new parts
• Refill with the oil grade and quantity specified for your reversing gear, then recheck the level after a short run once the new parts have taken up oil
• Confirm the gear engages fully and cleanly in both ahead and astern and returns properly to neutral before the boat is used
