🛠️ Service Notes

• Establish why the old cooler failed before fitting a new one — oil or coolant in the charge air points to the turbocharger, breather or cooler core, and the new unit will fill up the same way if the cause is left
• Clean and inspect the inlet ducting, hoses and clamps and remove any debris, oil or loose material so nothing is drawn through the new core
• Fit new gaskets, seals and O-rings on clean, flat flanges, and check the core is clean, dry and clear of foreign objects before the ducting is closed up
• On seawater-cooled units, renew the anodes the design provides for, clear the water side of scale and growth, and pressure test the unit after any service work before it goes back into use
• Make sure any condensate drain or drain plug arrangement is clear and correctly fitted, then run the engine and check for air, coolant and water leaks at every joint
