Genuine Volvo Penta four-blade nibral propeller for Volvo Penta IPS 2, IPS 20, the rear half of the type PS5 counter-rotating pair. It is machined from the specially developed nibral (nickel-bronze-aluminium) alloy Volvo Penta uses for its IPS propellers, which gives minimum growth, excellent durability and corrosion resistance. Volvo Penta IPS turns the propellers round to a forward-facing position, so the twin counter-rotating propellers pull the boat through the water rather than push it, and optimal interaction between the front and rear propeller holds performance and fuel efficiency across the whole speed range. The rear propeller carries the patented flow deflector, which controls the water flow and minimizes pressure and wear on the propeller shaft seals.

🔌 Function

Runs behind the front propeller and turns the opposite way, recovering the swirl left in its wake as further thrust and cancelling the sideways pull a single propeller would produce. It is also the propeller the line cutter mounts to, and its PS5 designation has to match the front propeller for the engine to be loaded correctly.
