⚙️ Key Features

🔌 Function

Opens to release burnt gases from the cylinder into the exhaust port and seals the combustion chamber when closed, taking the full heat of combustion on its face.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Loss of power and a misfire on one cylinder
• Compression low on the affected cylinder
• Popping or spitting back through the exhaust
• Valve clearances closing up as the seat recedes
• Burnt, pitted or notched valve face and a stem worn or stretched on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

• Never fit an inlet valve in an exhaust position - the two differ in size and material
• Renew the valve stem seals and check the guides and seats when a valve is replaced
• Two earlier references now consolidate into this one number, so an older parts list may show either
