🔌 Function

Shields the starter motor from heat radiated by the exhaust, keeping its windings, solenoid and cabling below the temperature at which they start to fail.

  • Hot starting difficult while cold starting is normal
  • Starter solenoid clicking or dragging when the engine is hot
  • Starter cable insulation hardened, cracked or discoloured
  • Shield distorted, discoloured or missing fasteners
