🔌 Function

Carries the thermostat and routes coolant either back round the engine or out to the heat exchanger as the engine reaches temperature.

  • Engine slow to warm through, or running cold on the gauge
  • Overheating while the top hose stays cool
  • Coolant weeping from the housing joint or from a hairline crack
  • Corrosion or erosion found around the thermostat seat
  • Mating face found warped or pitted when the housing comes off

  • Renew the thermostat, its seal and the housing gasket while the housing is off
