🔌 Function
Joins two parts of the cooling circuit that would not otherwise mate, carrying coolant across the change of size, angle or mounting pattern.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Coolant weeping from either joint at the adapter
- Coolant level falling with a damp trail below the fitting
- Corrosion, scale or erosion found in the bore
- Mating faces pitted so a new gasket still will not seal
🛠️ Service Notes
- Renew the gaskets or O-rings at both faces when the adapter is disturbed
- Check both mating faces for corrosion pitting before fitting - a pitted face will leak past a new seal
