🔌 Function

Warms the fuel before filtration so wax crystals do not form and block the filter in cold conditions.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Power loss or stalling only in cold weather, clearing once the engine is warm
  • Filter found waxed or clouded after a cold start
  • No temperature rise at the filter head when the system should be heating
  • Heater element open circuit, or its connector corroded, on test

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check the supply, earth and any thermostatic switch before condemning the heater - a good element with no supply gives the same symptom
  • Renew the sealing ring at the mounting when the heater is refitted
