🔌 Function

Carries the crankshaft at main-bearing positions 2, 4 and 6 on a crankshaft machined to the 0.07 mm regrind step, the thicker shell pair restoring the correct running clearance on the reduced journal diameter.

• Rumbling or knocking from the bottom end after a rebuild, pointing to a clearance error
• Oil pressure low or slow to build, especially on hot oil at idle
• Bearing metal appearing in the oil filter soon after the engine is run in
• Shells found with wear or seizure marks concentrated at one end of the face
• Journals measuring outside the specified size for the regrind step, or out of round
