🔌 Function

Carries the crankshaft at main-bearing positions 1, 3, 5 and 7 on a crankshaft machined to the 0.75 mm regrind step, the thicker shell pair restoring the correct running clearance on the reduced journal diameter.

• Knocking or rumbling from low in the engine, loudest under load
• Oil pressure warning at hot idle, or a gauge reading well below specification
• Glittering bearing particles in the drained oil
• Shells found with the overlay wiped away or the face scored and pitted
• Journal diameter or roundness outside the limits for the regrind step
