A genuine Volvo Penta O.S. 0.75mm connecting-rod big-end bearing shell pair for selected D5 and D8 crankshaft assemblies. One kit services one connecting-rod journal. Six kits are required for a complete six-cylinder D8 engine; four kits are required for a four-cylinder D5 engine.

🔌 Function
The shells form the hydrodynamic bearing between one connecting rod and crankshaft crankpin, transmitting combustion loads while maintaining a pressurised oil film.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Sharp connecting-rod knock that increases under load
- Bearing metal or copper visible in the oil filter
- Crankpin or shells scored, overheated or wiped
- Incorrect undersize fitted after crankshaft grinding
🛠️ Service Notes
- Crankpin grade: O.S. 0.75mm.
- Do not mix bearing grades on the same crankpin.
- Measure crankpin diameter, taper, ovality and installed oil clearance before assembly.
- Replace connecting-rod bolts where required by the Volvo Penta workshop procedure.
