⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Diesel weeping from the joint the plate seals
- Diesel smell in the engine space with a wet trail below the assembly
- Air drawn into the fuel system, giving hard starting or hunting
- Plate face found corroded, scored or distorted on removal
- Old gaskets or sealing rings found hardened and shrunk
🛠️ Service Notes
- Renew every gasket and sealing ring at both faces when the plate is disturbed - the plate seals two joints, and a reused seal on either side leaks
- Check both mating faces for flatness and clean off all old gasket material before assembly, then bleed the fuel system
