🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta protecting screen for the marine propulsion group, shielding the drive components behind it from debris and impact. It is fitted to D-series engines with DPH and DPI drives. Note that its predecessor numbers 23275836 and 3862871 are listed under a protecting casing description rather than a screen, so they are shown as related references rather than a confirmed same-part supersession.

🔌 Function

The protecting screen forms a physical barrier over the drive components, keeping weed, debris and impact damage away from the parts behind it while allowing water flow to continue. It is a sacrificial protective item rather than a load-bearing one.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Impact damage, bending or distortion of the screen
  • Cracking or fracture at mounting points
  • Corrosion or pitting in the marine environment
  • Blockage by weed or marine growth restricting flow
  • Missing or loose fixings allowing the screen to move

🛠️ Service Notes

  • The earlier numbers are catalogued as a protecting casing rather than a screen - verify the physical part before substituting
