🔌 Function

Locks the propeller cone fastening so the clamping stays tight under the reversing loads a propeller shaft sees.

• Propeller nut found loose or backed off on inspection
• Locking tabs cracked, torn or already bent flat from a previous fit
• Washer distorted or dished under the nut
• Corrosion or pitting where it has sat in seawater

🛠️ Service Notes

• Lock washers are single-use - fit a new one every time the propeller is removed, and never re-bend an old tab
• It can be bought on its own when only the washer is needed, rather than ordering the whole propeller cone kit
• Screw 23748333 is the other loose item from that kit
