⚙️ Key Features

🔌 Function

Draws oil from the sump and delivers it under pressure to the bearings, galleries and cooling jets, so every load-bearing surface keeps its oil film.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil pressure low or falling away once the engine is hot
• Low oil pressure warning at idle that clears with revs
• Rattle or whine from the front of the engine that follows speed
• Rotors or gears found scored, and end float found excessive on strip-down
• Metal in the sump or on the filter element

🛠️ Service Notes

• Pump 23713589 is within 16 grams of this one, so order by part number against the engine
• Check the relief valve, pick-up strainer and the gauge or sender before condemning a pump on a low pressure reading
• Renew the pick-up seal and prime the pump before first start
