🔌 Function

Encloses the valve gear at the top of the engine, keeping oil in and dirt out while carrying the breather path.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil seeping down the side of the engine from the cover joint
  • Oil pooling in the plug recesses or around the injector wells
  • Cover gasket found hardened, flattened or pushed out of its groove
  • Cover cracked or distorted so it no longer sits flat
  • Breather passages blocked with oil sludge, showing as pressure in the crankcase

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew the cover gasket and any seal grommets at the same time
  • Valve cover 23759909 covers the TWD application and is a different part - do not swap them
