• Leather worn through, split or lifting at the rim
• Wheel loose on the shaft, or play felt before the boat responds
• Rim finish faded or discoloured against the rest of the helm

• Corrosion under the centre cap or at the retaining nut

🛠️ Service Notes

• Steering is a safety system - never run with a loose wheel or a worn hub taper
• Colour is the discriminator here: the chrome-finished leather wheel 21649809 is published at exactly the same 2.263 kg, so weight cannot separate them
• Tighten the retaining nut to specification and fit a new lock where one is used
• Four wheels are listed and grip material, spoke grade, diameter and recommended use are what separate them: 21729995 is the Classic Mahogany model (mahogany grip, 350 mm); 21649809 is the Leather / Chrome model (leather grip, 350 mm); 21673214 is the Stainless model (316 stainless steel grip, 370 mm)
