⚙️ Key Features

• Connecting rod from the Engine group
• 4.319 kg
• Listed for eight applications across D and TAD series engines

🔌 Function

Connects the piston to the crankshaft, carrying the combustion load down to the crank and turning the piston's travel into rotation.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Deep knock from the bottom end that grows with load
• Oil pressure falling as big-end clearance opens up
• Big-end shells scored, wiped or with the backing exposed
• Rod bent or twisted, showing as one-sided piston skirt wear
• Metallic glitter in the oil or on the filter element

🛠️ Service Notes

• Rods are matched by weight within an engine - check the weight class marking before mixing new and old
• Renew the big-end bolts and bearing shells with the rod
• Measure the crank journal first; a rod that has run its bearing usually means the journal needs work too
