• Volvo Penta TAD1640-42VE-C

• Engine Family: TAD

⚙️ Key Features

• 2.098 kg
• Supersedes 22769772
• Two TAD series engine applications
• Within one gram of coolant pipe 24374196

🔌 Function

Carries coolant between engine components along a fixed route, its bends and end fittings deciding where it fits.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant drips or dried white or pink staining along the pipe
• Coolant level falling with no leak visible when cold
• Corrosion pinholes, worst at the bends and low points
• Ends scored or distorted so the seal will not hold
• Chafe marks where the pipe rests against a bracket or another pipe

🛠️ Service Notes

• Six pipes here sit between 2.097 kg and 2.154 kg, so order by part number and disregard weight entirely
• Renew the O-rings, hoses and clips at each end when the pipe is changed
• Pressure test the system after fitting rather than relying on a cold visual check
