Connects the preheat relay into the engine loom, so the inlet heater or glow plugs receive their high-current supply when the control system calls for it.

  • Terminals discoloured or melted where a high-current joint has run loose
  • Corrosion at the ring terminals or spade connections
  • Fault code stored for the preheat circuit

  • Check the relay and the heater element as well as the harness - this circuit usually fails at the terminations rather than in the cable
  • Clean and tighten the high-current studs; a loose preheat connection generates enough heat to melt the terminal
