🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta accelerator pedal from the Engine Controls group, weighing 0.835 kg. It supersedes part number 84557585 and covers its 172 applications across TAD, TWD and TADH series engines.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Accelerator pedal
  • 0.835 kg
  • Supersedes 84557585
  • Covers the 172 applications of the number it replaces, across TAD, TWD and TADH series engines
  • Also supersedes Volvo part number 3985226

🔌 Function

Turns the operator's foot movement into the throttle demand signal the engine control system acts on.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Engine not responding to pedal movement, or responding erratically
  • A flat spot or dead band part way through the travel
  • Pedal feeling notchy or stiff, or failing to return cleanly
  • Stored fault codes for the pedal position signal
  • Worn pivot or a cracked pedal arm found on removal

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check the pedal connector and its wiring before replacing the pedal - a chafed loom gives the same fault codes
  • Some installations need the pedal calibrated to the control system once it is fitted
