⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Rough idle, misfire or a knock traceable to one cylinder
• White or black smoke, and a smell of unburnt fuel
• Hard starting and fuel consumption creeping up
• Leak-off higher than specification on test
• Nozzle found coked, eroded or dribbling on the test bench

🛠️ Service Notes

• Injectors are matched to the engine's fuelling calibration, and a replacement normally has to be coded to the control unit before the engine will run correctly
• Renew the sealing washer and the clamp fixings rather than reusing them
• Check the leak-off across the whole set before condemning a single injector
