🔌 Function

Seals a threaded fuel joint by crushing slightly under the union, filling the surface between the two faces so fuel cannot track past the thread.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Diesel weeping from under a union nut or banjo bolt
  • Fuel smell around the injection equipment
  • Air drawn in on the suction side, giving hard starting or a hunting idle
  • Washer found flattened, split or bedded hard into the face
  • A joint that keeps seeping however hard it is tightened

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew every time the union is broken - a washer that has crushed once will not seal again
  • Kit 876679 carries this washer with the other fuel system seals, which is the cheaper route for a full overhaul
