🔌 Function

Seals a fuel joint by being squeezed into its groove, the rubber deforming to fill the gap between the two parts and hold against fuel pressure.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Diesel weeping at the joint, or a fuel smell in the bilge
  • Air drawn in on the suction side, giving hard starting or hunting
  • O-ring found flattened, nicked, or bitten through on assembly
  • Rubber gone hard, glazed or crumbling
  • A joint that keeps leaking however much it is tightened

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Always fit new - an o-ring takes a permanent set in service
  • Lubricate lightly with clean fuel or oil and make sure it has not been pinched or rolled as the joint closes
  • Kit 876679 carries this o-ring with the other fuel system seals
