🔌 Function

Closes the top of the seawater strainer so the basket can be lifted out for cleaning, sealing against the housing to keep the suction airtight.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Water weeping from around the cover with the seacock open
• Air drawn in on the suction, so the pump loses prime and flow drops
• Cover crazed, cracked, or gone cloudy so the basket cannot be seen
• Seal groove damaged, or the seal itself flattened
• Threads or clamp stripped so the cover cannot be pulled down evenly

• Renew the seal with the cover and lubricate it before fitting
• Hand-tighten where the design calls for it - over-tightening cracks a transparent cover
• Filter body 24004312 is listed separately if the housing is damaged as well
