🔌 Function

Passes engine coolant through a bundle of tubes swept by raw water, so heat is carried overboard without the raw water ever entering the engine's own circuit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant temperature climbing under load while raw water flow looks normal
• Coolant loss with no external leak, or oil traces in the header tank
• Raw water discharge running hot or reduced
• Tube stack found blocked with impeller debris, weed or scale
• End cap seals perished and weeping at the joint

🛠️ Service Notes

• At over 70 kg the lift needs planning and a second pair of hands or a hoist
• Check the raw water pump impeller and the strainer first - a blocked tube stack is usually full of impeller vanes
• Renew the end cap o-rings and gaskets whenever the stack is withdrawn, and fit new zinc pencil anodes where the design uses them
