🔌 Function

Uses an electromagnet to pull its plunger, throwing the starter drive into engagement and closing the heavy contacts that feed the motor.

  • Single click at the key with no cranking
  • Rapid chattering when the key is turned
  • Starter engaging but the motor turning slowly or not at all
  • Solenoid staying pulled in after the key is released
  • Contacts and plunger found burnt or pitted on strip-down
