⚙️ Key Features

  • Protecting casing from the Starting System group
  • 0.603 kg
  • Listed for 186 applications across MD, TMD, D, TD, AQD and TAD series engines

🔌 Function

Encloses the working parts of the starter, keeping water, dirt and stray contact away from the electrical connections inside.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Water or salt found inside the starter after the casing has cracked
  • Casing dented, split or corroded through
  • Cover loose, with the fixings worked free by vibration
  • Insulation damage where a lead has rubbed on a broken edge
  • Rust staining running from the casing joint

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Listed for 186 applications spanning twelve engine families (MD, TMD, D, TD, AQD, TAD, TAMD, TWD, TID, THD, THAMD, DH) - by far the broadest range of any casing in this group, so confirm your exact engine code before ordering
  • At 0.603 kg this is one of the lighter casings in the family - a hand-removable cover rather than a heavy structural housing

📦 Condition

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part
  • Brand new
  • Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
