Closes an opening in the muffler assembly, sealing it while allowing access for inspection or service.

  • Sooty staining or a leak trace round the lid edge
  • Exhaust smell in the engine space
  • Lid corroded, distorted or blown at one corner
  • Fixings seized, snapped or repeatedly working loose
  • Sealing face pitted so a new gasket still leaks

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Fit a new gasket whenever the lid is removed and check the face for distortion
  • Replace seized fixings rather than reusing them - they rarely survive a second removal
