🔌 Function
Seals the joint between two components in the inlet and exhaust run, taking up the small irregularities in the flanges so gas cannot escape past them.

- Clean both flange faces back to bare metal and check them for flatness and cracks before fitting
- Tighten the flange fasteners evenly and in sequence, then re-check them once the engine has been up to temperature
