🔌 Function

The aft propeller of an IPS drive's counter-rotating pair. It turns against the front propeller, recovering the swirl in its wake and cancelling the side load a single propeller would produce.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Vibration through the hull that rises with engine speed
• Top speed down, with the engine reaching its maximum speed too easily
• Blades bent, chipped or curled from a grounding or a debris strike
• Pitting and erosion on the blade faces, with the leading edges rounded
• Exhaust note changing and the drive drumming under load

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the front propeller before fitting this one, since 24166263 is the partner reference - damage on one usually means damage on both
• Look at the drive's propeller shaft seals and the flow deflector every time the propellers come off - fishing line at the hub cuts seals
• Weight is no guide across the IPS ranges - the published figures for the complete kits do not add up to the front and rear kits sold separately, so order by the dimension code and the engine application
