🔌 Function

Collects exhaust gas from each cylinder and delivers it in one flow to the turbocharger, holding the pressure and heat of the exhaust pulses.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Ticking or puffing at the joint that fades as the engine warms up
  • Soot trails at the head joint or between manifold sections
  • Loss of boost and sluggish response under load
  • Studs corroded, stretched or snapped on removal
  • Cracks between runners or at the flange found on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew the manifold gaskets and nuts, and expect to have to extract seized studs
  • Check the flange faces for flatness before bolting up - a warped face will blow the new gasket
  • At 16.50 kg support the manifold while the fixings are started
