24266374 Gear Housing | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta gear housing from the Marine Propulsion group, weighing 41.73 kg, superseding part number 22777869 and covering its applications. At over 40 kg the lift needs planning.

⚙️ Key Features

• 41.73 kg
• Supersedes 22777869 and covers its applications
• Marine Propulsion group
• Over 40 kg - a planned lift with proper equipment
• Also supersedes Volvo part numbers 22777846, 22861607, 23289378 and 23289379

🔌 Function

Forms the case that carries the drive's gears, shafts and bearings, holding them in alignment and retaining the oil around them.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil leaking from the housing itself or from one of its seal faces
• Whine, rumble or knock from the drive that changes with load
• Water in the gear oil, showing as a grey emulsion at the dipstick or drain
• Bearing bores found worn, picked up or out of round on strip-down
• Cracks or impact damage around the mounting faces

🛠️ Service Notes

• Plan the lift - at 41.73 kg this is not a one-person part
• Inspect the bearings, seals and shafts that transfer across rather than reusing them without checking
• It supersedes 22777869, so an existing installation may still be listed under that number
