24316222 Washer | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta washer from the Inlet and Exhaust System group, with a published weight of 0.2 kg. No thickness, bore or outside diameter is published for it, and weight is not a safe guide to the size of a washer, so order it strictly by part number 24316222 and measure the one you remove.

⚙️ Key Features

• Inlet and Exhaust System group part
• 0.2 kg
• No published thickness, bore or outside diameter - measure the washer you remove
• Order strictly by number 24316222

🔌 Function

Seats under a fastener or between two joint faces on the inlet or exhaust side, spreading the clamping load and holding the joint tight as it heats and cools.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Exhaust leak at the joint - ticking or puffing under load, or soot streaking around the fasteners
• Fasteners at the joint found loose or needing repeated nipping up
• Washer dished, cracked or picked up a wave when removed
• Heavy heat discolouration, scale or corrosion pitting on the faces
• Joint faces marked or bedded unevenly where the washer has sat

🛠️ Service Notes

• Never separate washers of the same family by weight - measure the thickness of the one you remove and match it, as the published weights do not divide a graded set reliably
• Fit a new washer rather than reusing one that is dished, cracked or heavily scaled, and clean both faces before assembly
