🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta grease for traditional stuffing boxes, supplied in a 500 gram plastic container and weighing 0.588 kg. It supersedes 3809449, whose cost record lists 211 applications across TAMD, D, MD, TMD, TD and MB series engines.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 500 gram plastic container
  • For traditional stuffing boxes
  • Supersedes 3809449
  • 211 applications across six engine series

🔌 Function

Lubricates and seals a traditional stuffing box so the shaft turns without excessive water ingress.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Stuffing box dripping more than its designed rate
  • Shaft running hot at the gland
  • Packing hardened or glazed
  • Shaft grooved where the packing runs
  • Grease gone hard in the container

🛠️ Service Notes

  • A traditional stuffing box is meant to weep slightly — over-tightening to stop it entirely will score the shaft
  • Grease at the interval specified rather than only when it starts dripping
