🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta coolant from the 247127xx run, identified by part number rather than by description.
⚙️ Key Features
- Genuine Volvo Penta coolant
- Part number 24712786
- From the 247127xx run of seven
- Identified by part number rather than by description
🔌 Function
Circulates through the closed cooling circuit to carry heat out of the engine, and carries the inhibitor package that protects the internal surfaces against corrosion, cavitation and freezing.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Coolant in the header tank gone brown, rusty or cloudy
- An oily film or sludge floating in the expansion tank
- Scale or sediment visible in the tank or at the heat exchanger
- A test showing the inhibitor or the freeze protection has fallen away
- Level dropping with no external leak to account for it
🛠️ Service Notes
- This is the VCS-2 orange coolant, supplied ready mixed in a 5 litre pack rated to -25°C - do not dilute it further
- Do not mix with the green Volvo Penta coolant; the additive packages are not compatible
- Uses LoBrid (OAT/IAT) chemistry with no 2-EHA additive package
- Typical change interval for VCS-2 coolant is around 4 years - confirm against the engine's own service schedule
