🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta expansion tank kit from the Cooling System group, weighing 6.098 kg. It supersedes 21656191, whose cost record lists 50 D series applications.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 6.098 kg
  • Supersedes 21656191
  • 50 D series engine applications
  • Supplied as a kit

🔌 Function

Holds the coolant that expands out of the circuit as the engine warms, supplied with the parts to fit it.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant loss with no obvious external leak
  • Cracking or crazing of the tank body
  • Cap not holding system pressure
  • Level swinging widely between hot and cold
  • Staining around the seams

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check the cap as well as the tank — a cap that will not hold pressure gives the same symptoms
  • Only fill to the marked cold level; overfilling pushes coolant out as the engine warms
