🔌 Function
Holds the vessel on a set heading, and gives that heading back to the helm the moment the driver steers, so the autopilot can be left engaged throughout a passage.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Autopilot options missing or greyed out in the Glass Cockpit menu
- Heading drifts or will not hold, where the Dynamic Positioning System antenna has no clear view of the sky or has been sited close to metal structure
- Function refused after an engine or display was added or changed, because the licence covers a different engine count
- Autopilot unavailable on a display that has not had the Glass Cockpit software upgrade
