🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta flywheel housing from the Engine group, weighing 5.946 kg. It supersedes 22499283, catalogued earlier as a timing gear casing, whose cost record lists 100 applications across D, TD, TAD and MD series engines.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 5.946 kg
  • Supersedes 22499283, previously catalogued as a timing gear casing
  • 100 applications across four engine series

🔌 Function

Encloses the flywheel and provides the mounting interface between engine and transmission.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Cracking around the mounting bolt holes
  • Bore or face runout causing driveline vibration
  • Oil leakage at the rear main seal housing
  • Corrosion at the joint faces

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Its superseded number was catalogued as a timing gear casing, so confirm which item the job actually needs
  • Check bore and face alignment on assembly — runout here shows up as driveline vibration
