Genuine Quicksilver Lower Driveshaft Oil Seal - Part Number: 26-43036

A genuine Quicksilver lower-unit driveshaft oil seal for selected Mercury and Mariner outboard gearcases.

The seal is installed beneath the water-pump base around the driveshaft. It separates the gear-lubricated lower-unit cavity from the water-pump area, retaining gear oil and preventing cooling water from entering the gear housing.

🔌 Function

The seal closes the driveshaft opening beneath the water pump. It keeps lower-unit gear lubricant inside the gearcase and prevents water from passing into the gear-lubricated bearing and gear assembly.

Common signs of failure:

• Gear oil visible beneath the water-pump base

• Milky or contaminated lower-unit lubricant

• Gearcase fails a pressure or vacuum test

• Corrosion around the driveshaft seal surface

• Seal damage found during water-pump servicing
