🔌 Function

The seals maintain an airtight and fuel-tight joint around the direct injector. This allows the pressurised air-and-fuel system to deliver the correctly atomised charge into the combustion chamber.

Common signs of failure:

• Rough idle or cylinder misfire

• Hard starting or extended cranking

• Fuel, air or combustion leakage around the injector

• Carbon staining around the injector bore

• Injector balance, air-pressure or fuel-pressure faults
