Genuine Volvo Penta blade kit for the 3-blade folding propeller for 20-60 hp. Designed for engines from 20 up to 60 hp. At 8 knots a 3-blade fixed propeller produces more than six times the drag of a 3-blade folding propeller. Available in multiple sizes and pitches for both S-drives and shafts, in 15 x 9 in. Volvo Penta folding propellers give minimal drag while sailing combined with the high thrust of a fixed propeller while motoring, even in reverse. The patented design, with protruding blade tips, opens the blades instantly as the propeller starts to turn, and the swept high-skew blade design keeps running smooth and quiet with minimal vibration. Reduced drag under sail increases speed by up to 1.5 knots compared with a fixed propeller.

🔌 Function

Provides the three folding blades: water pressure on the protruding blade tips throws them open as soon as the propeller turns and centrifugal force completes the swing, so the propeller drives hard ahead and astern and then folds flat against the hub under sail.

• A complete propeller is one blade kit plus one hub kit - the hub kits are 3858955 for S-drives, 3583428 pre-drilled, 3583424 for a 25 mm shaft, 3583425 for a 30 mm shaft, 3583426 for a 1 inch shaft and 3583427 for a 1 1/4 inch shaft
• Size has to be calculated against the engine and gear ratio rather than guessed, and your Volvo Penta dealer can run that calculation
• 3583412 is the same 15 x 9 size in the other hand - confirm the shaft rotation before ordering
• For a complete propeller, order one blade kit and one hub kit.
