Holds coolant in the engine until it reaches working temperature, then opens to let it circulate.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Engine slow to warm up or never reaching normal temperature
• Overheating with the top hose staying cold, a sign the thermostat is stuck shut
• Temperature gauge swinging up and down in service
• Thermostat found open when cold on the bench
• Corrosion or scale locking the valve on its seat

• Kit 3588437 includes this thermostat with its seal - often the better order if the housing is being opened anyway
• Renew the sealing ring at the same time and check the housing face for corrosion
