🔌 Function

Carries the folding blades and transmits the drive from the S-drive shaft to them.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Blades not opening or closing cleanly when going into gear
• Vibration or a knock that appears only under drive
• Propeller slipping or thrust dropping away
• Splines and drive faces worn or polished bright
• Corrosion locking the hub so it will not part from the drive

🛠️ Service Notes

• The blade kit is a separate order - 3583917 to 3583926 by diameter, pitch and hand
• This hub is for S-drives only; the shaft hubs 3583928 to 3583932 and 3584137 will not fit an S-drive leg
• Grease the hub and work the blades through their full travel before launching; aluminium anodes for salt and brackish water are listed separately in the anode section
• For a complete propeller, order one blade kit and one hub kit.
• Propeller size has to be calculated to match engine and gear ratio - contact your Volvo Penta dealer.
