Carries the folding blades and transmits the drive from the propeller shaft to them.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Blades slack or not folding cleanly
• Hub bore or keyway worn
• Corrosion between hub and shaft
• Vibration under way from a poorly seated taper
• Hub working loose on the shaft

🛠️ Service Notes

• The smaller SAE hub is 3583931 for a 1 1/4 inch shaft; metric shafts need 3583928, 3583929, 3583930 or 3584137 with their 1:10 taper
• Check the taper fit with marking compound before final assembly - poor taper contact is what lets a hub slip
• Blade kits 3583917 to 3583926 are ordered separately, and the nut and key are not in this kit
• For a complete propeller, order one blade kit and one hub kit.
• Propeller size has to be calculated to match engine and gear ratio - contact your Volvo Penta dealer.
